Classroom of the Elite
Attention Spoilers!

"I seek neither friendship nor enmity. I choose what benefits me most."

My review:
Story:
The plot of Classroom of the Elite is fascinating and captivating. It doesn't just focus on the academic aspects, but delves deep into the students' psychological intrigues and power games. The competition created by the class system and the constant exams creates a complex narrative that continually surprises the viewer. The constant uncertainty about how events will unfold draws the viewer throughout the series.
Characters:
The character development is a real highlight. Kiyotaka Ayanokoji, in particular, stands out, as he skillfully conceals his true intelligence and intentions. The other main characters, such as Suzune Horikita and Arisu Sakayanagi, also have interesting developments that show how they grapple with their own goals and inner conflicts. Their characters become increasingly complex, making them even more fascinating for the viewer.
Emotions:
The anime creates a subtle yet intense emotional impact. The constant psychological tension and pressure the students are exposed to make the atmosphere almost tangible. There are moments of surprise, confusion, and anger, which are heightened by the psychological struggles and manipulations the characters go through. It's incredibly exciting to see how the story continually takes new, unexpected twists and turns.
Ending:
The ending offers an interesting conclusion, yet leaves many questions unanswered and makes you curious about a possible sequel. The animation perfectly supports the dark, strategic atmosphere while remaining clear and precise. The colors and design contribute to the intense mood of the anime without overloading the plot.
The ending scene also broke me a bit; I was hoping for the "romance" with someone else.
Social Criticism:
The anime offers a social critique of the systematic hierarchies and competitive pressures that prevail in a performance-oriented society. It shows how deeply people are tied into a system of power, status, and manipulation, and addresses the dark side of educational institutions focused on success and winners.

Conclusion
Although this anime doesn't actually fall into my preferred genre, I was pleasantly surprised. The secrets and intrigues that characterize the plot immediately captivated me. Despite my expectation that the genre wouldn't be particularly romantic, I still began to hope that a love story could develop between the two main protagonists. Unfortunately, the story took a completely different turn. Now I'm curious to see if there will be another season and if the plot will develop in a direction that's more in line with my expectations.
